DESIRE
Note to user:
There is power in the Word below. Pray for a spirit of wisdom & understanding in the knowledge of Him so that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened as you seek the ways of His Kingdom.
- Seek to make your shelter and trust in the Lord and to speak of His works. It is good to be near God.
- Seek to walk in a spirit of repentance and to honor your Father by living in truth at the core of who He has made you to be. Remember that your inner thoughts and consequent actions impact those of which you share daily life.
- Seek to live with a sweet and gentle balance that you may bear the fruit of strength and evenness. Pray that your Father will exercise favorable judgments as you seek Him so that you may grow in holiness and truth.
- Seek that you may desire a lowly position in life; to live and look for opportunities to wait upon the needs of others.
- Seek to live with a strong conviction of God’s truth. Speak in faith, do not doubt in your heart, and pray believing that you will receive whatever you ask.
- Seek to have a burning devotion to your Father that is based in knowledge and discernment. Seek to understand that you embrace righteousness through the thoughts and feelings of your mind.
- Seek to direct your strongest feelings toward pursuing spiritual things wrapped in a life of love. Express desire to your Father that you may prophesy for the building up of His church.
- Seek to make room in your heart for those that the Lord has brought into your life. Invest into each others lives to produce perseverance and fruit.
- Seek to live and see in a way that produces growth in others. This builds confidence and bears fruit for the Kingdom.
- Seek to be steady in the faith, to love the saints, to teach and to be taught so that we all may be complete in Christ.
- Seek to be approved by God for the proclamation of His gospel.
- Seek to be devout, upright and blameless in your behavior toward each other in Christ so that you may walk in a manner worthy of His call to the Kingdom.
- Seek to live and act by faith so that you will be rewarded by God as you seek Him and the ways of His Kingdom.
- Seek to abstain from the lusts of the flesh as it wages war against the soul.
- Seek to proclaim the excellency of God who has called you out of the dark and into the light.
Psalm 73: 25-26
Whom have I in heaven but You? And besides You, I desire nothing on earth.
My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Psalm 51:6 (A sinner’s prayer for pardon)
Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being, And in the hidden part You will make me know wisdom.
Isaiah 26: 8-9
Indeed, while following the way of Your judgments, O Lord, We have waited for You eagerly; Your name, even Your memory, is the desire of our souls. At night my soul longs for You, Indeed, my spirit within me seeks You diligently; For when the earth experiences Your judgments The inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
Mark 9:35
Sitting down, He called the twelve and said to them, “If anyone wants to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.”
Mark 11:24
Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.
*What is your basis for all things? What is flowing up out of your fountain of desire? If it's out of your great love for Him, you're on the right track.
Romans 10:1 (Paul’s desire for Israel)
Brethren, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation.
1 Corinthians 14:1
Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.
II Corinthians 7:7
...and not only by his coming, but also by the comfort with which he was comforted in you, as he reported to us your longing, your mourning, your zeal for me; so that I rejoiced even more.
Philippians 4:17
Not that I seek the gift itself, but I seek for the profit which increases to your account.
Colossians 1:9-10
For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.
1 Thessalonians 2:17
But we, brethren, having been taken away from you for a short while—in person, not in spirit—were all the more eager with great desire to see your face.
Hebrews 6:11-12
And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Hebrews 11:13-16
All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own. And indeed if they had been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return. But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them.
1 Peter 2: 1-3
Therefore, putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander, like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation, if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.
Prayer of Desire
Dear Father, I long to live a life of purpose, and my hope is to cultivate the life I have in You for the glory of Your Kingdom. I pray according to Psalm 73, 25-26 knowing that my flesh and heart may fail, but You are the strength of my heart and my portion forever. May this scripture be a foundational truth from which I live and seek . Isaiah 26, 8-9 warms my heart as I joyfully anticipate my time with You for Your very nature is the desire of my soul. At bedtime, I hope that my dreams will be full of Your presence so that I may see and hear about the joy of your Kingdom and what you have planned. My spirit truly longs for all the spiritual gifts that You will for me to have as my desire is to rest in You and Your plans for this time.
I emphatically shout and celebrate according to Mark 11:24 for my heart’s desire is to bear fruit for You, my King. I have received everything I need as Your life supplies abundantly more than I could ever ask. I long to share friendship with You Lord above all else. Thank you for granting to me Your strength and grace that prepares me to walk this life with You. I pray according to Mark 9:35 that being last of all and servant of all may be the natural course of my heart and actions. I ask You Father to nurture within me a heart for Your church and to share the radical life changing power of Your salvation to those you bring into my path.
I ask that I may prophesy in accordance with 1 Corinthians 14:1. To prophesy is a treasure beyond value and a true joy as it is the fruit of a renewed mind and transformed life. Father, please prepare me, spirit and soul, that I may receive the words of Your plans and of Your heart, and that I may speak in power to bring the glorious message of Your Kingdom.
May my seeking be in accordance with Philippians 4:17 in that my heart’s desire may be for an abundant increase in fruit for the spiritual accounts of those in which I am blessed to share life. Father, I choose to live according to the prayer of Colossians 1 in asking that I may be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding and that the daily walk of my life will be pleasing to You. I cry aloud to You now and confess my desire to bear fruit for You with every good work that You have prepared for me today and that I may increase in the knowledge of You and Your ways.
I persevere according to Hebrews 6:11-12. I will not be sluggish but I will push onward with the hope of my salvation. Through faith and patience I will walk according to Your desires and be a productive citizen of Your Kingdom. I embrace 1 Peter 2:1-3 as I have tasted Your kindness and desire Your word and Your ways. Father, You are the root of my desire. You are the strength of my foundation and I desire that all things in my life will flow from your nature that is within me. You are the fuel of my joy and I rejoice in our kinship together as Your adopted son, I rejoice as a servant to You as my King and I rejoice in the beauty and openness of our friendship. ---AMEN---
