The Heart

Jeremiah 17: 9,10 - The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it? I, the LORD, search the heart,

I test the mind, To give to each person according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds.

Jeremiah 29:13 - And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

Joel 2:12-13 - Yet even now,” declares the LORD, “Return to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, weeping, and mourning; and tear your heart and not merely your garments.”  Now return to the LORD your God, For He is gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger, abounding in mercy and relenting of catastrophe.

John 14:27 - Peace I leave you, My peace I give you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor fearful.

Joshua 22:5 - Only be very careful to follow the commandment and the Law which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, to love the LORD your God and walk in all His ways, and keep His commandments and cling to Him, and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

1 Peter 3: 3-4 - Your adornment must not be merely the external—braiding the hair, wearing gold jewelry, or putting on apparel; but it should be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.

Matthew 5:8 -  Blessed are the pure (unmixed without undesirable elements, free from the contaminating, soiling influences of sin) in heart, for they will see God.

Matthew 6:21 - for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 22:37 - And He said to him, “‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.

Philippians 4:7 - And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Proverbs 3: 3-6 - Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and a good reputation In the sight of God and man. Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 4:23 - Watch over your heart with all diligence (like a prison guard), For from it flow the springs of life.

Proverbs 12:25 - Anxiety in a person’s heart weighs it down, But a good word makes it glad.

Proverbs 13:12 - Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But desire fulfilled is a tree of life.

Proverbs 27:19 - As in water a face reflects the face, So the heart of a person reflects the person.

Psalm 13:5-6 - But I have trusted in Your faithfulness; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.  I will sing to the LORD, Because He has looked after me.

Psalm 34:18 - The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Psalm 37:4 - Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart.

Psalm 51:10 - Create in me a clean heart, God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Psalm 86:11 - Teach me Your way, LORD; I will walk in Your truth;

Unite my heart to fear Your name.

Psalm 119:11 - I have treasured Your word in my heart, So that I may not sin against You.

Romans 5:5 - and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Song of Solomon - Put me like a seal over your heart, Like a seal on your arm. For love is as strong as death, Jealousy is as severe as Sheol; Its flames are flames of fire, The flame of the LORD.
